HR Generalist

Job Summary:

TELESIS is an innovative and a growing company meeting the needs of our customers in the Federal Sector. We are looking for an HR Generalist who possesses a consistently high degree of attention to detail in all tasks, demonstrates enthusiasm and initiative, and who wants to work in an engaging, fast-paced environment that requires you to prioritize and shift tasks quickly. You will be an integral part of our HR Team, working with Employees as well as other Corporate departments.You will be responsible for performing HR-related duties on a professional level in all functional areas, including employment law compliance, employee relations, benefits management, leave management, performance management and policies & procedures.

Essential Responsibilities include:

  • Act as the primary resource for employees to foster understanding of compliance with company policies and regulations
  • Act as liaison between employee, insurance providers to resolve benefit-related problems and ensure effective utilization of plans and positive employee relations
  • Ensure that benefits are administered in accordance with Federal / state regulations and plan provisions are followed
  • Keep HR management advised of potential problem areas and recommends/implements solutions as appropriate
  • Maintain HRIS (ADP Workforce Now) records and compile reports from database
  • Manage leave administration (FMLA, STD/LTD, Leave of Absence)
  • Manage Workers Compensation claims and Accommodation cases
  • Recommend new approaches, policies and procedures to continually improve efficiency of the department and services performed
  • Possess comprehension of common HR methods, best practices, procedures and laws (i.e., ADA, FLSA, PDA, EEOC, COBRA)
  • Assist the HR Director with Disciplinary/Corrective Actions and other employee relations matters
  • Assist with the development and implementation of personnel policies and procedures
  • Maintain compliance with Federal, state and local employment laws / regulations
  • Manage TELESIS University users and courses, and compile reports
  • Travel to local company and customer sites (occasionally)

Experience & Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in HR, Business Administration or related field required
  • Minimum of 2 years demonstrated experience in HR
  • Must possess meticulous detail-oriented and organizational skills; sustained daily focus on process is essential
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines while maintaining a professional and courteous demeanor
  • SHRM-CP/PHR is preferred
