Position Overview:

The Configuration Manager must display strong team work with the ability to work independently and actively participate on integrated teams. The primary responsibilities include configuration identification, change control, configuration status and configuration audits, change planning and project status tracking. The incumbent identifies and maintains the original configuration of: requirements documentation, design documentation, software documentation, additional related documentation. In this role you will manage configuration change control and auditing to ensure baselines are maintained while regulating the change process so that only approved and validated changes are incorporated into product documents and related software.
Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Identify, organize, and control software and hardware configuration changes
  • Coordination of the Change Control Board (CCB) to ensure correct documentation is provided and personnel are present.
  • Identify and coordinate processes for version management, system build, backup and recovery, archiving, and change management
  • Support and facilitate auditing and reporting
  • Oversee baseline configurations for applications, software, and hardware assets
  • Knowledge of the general principles and tenets of Information Security
  • Demonstrates continuous effort to improve operational performance, streamline work processes and work cooperatively and jointly to provide quality, seamless customer service
  • Assists with quality and delivery of Task Area deliverables and status reports
  • Writing and reviewing Standard Operating Procedures
  • Perform other administrative and support functions as directed by leadership

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Ability to evaluate the current architecture, gather needs, and propose a recommended CM solution
  • Ability to understand complex network architectures and implementation strategies
  • Ability to liaison with stakeholders to ensure customer requirements for ongoing efforts are met
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to adapt your communication style for the audience
  • Experience with CMDB implementation and management
  • Experience with CCB process and procedures
  • Proficient in MS Project, Visio and Office suite
  • Experience coaching a team and individuals through alignment of processes
  • Strong attention to detail, combined with the ability to see and explain the big picture
  • Comfortable facilitating meetings and assisting Subject Matter Experts on processes and systems
  • Security+ CE certification preferred
